Day 01: Delhi
Arrival at Delhi. On arrival meet and assist at the airport and transfer to hotel. The capital of kingdoms and empires is now a sprawling metropolis with a fascinating blend of the past and the present. It is a perfect introduction to the composite culture of an ancient land. A window to the kaleidoscope - that is India.

Day 02: Delhi
Full day sightseeing of old Delhi & New Delhi that includes visiting the Raj Ghat - the memorial site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated; Jama Masjid - the largest mosque in India and the Red Fort - once the most opulent fort and palace of the Moghul Empire,the Humayun's Tomb, the Qutub Minar, a drive along the ceremonial avenue - Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House, the President's Residence, Lotus Temple etc.Also enjoy the cycle rickshaw ride from Jama Masjid to Chandni Chowk.

Day 03: Delhi - Mandawa (approx 280 kms/6 hours)
Breakfast at hotel. Leave by surface for Mandawa.
Arrive Mandawa and check into hotel.

Mandawa is considered as the start of the Sekhawati region located in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. It encompasses the administrative districts of Jhunjhunu and Sikar. However, some parts of Churu and Nagaur districts are also considered in the Shekawati region.

Its area is 13784 square kilometers.The inhabitants of Shekhawati are considered brave, sacrificing and hard working people. The region provides the highest number of persons to the Indian Army. The region of Shekhawati is also known as Scotland of India because of its brave, sacrificing and painstaking Jat people who are mostly farmers and military men. Mandawa provides the visitors with a sense of discovery at every turn; battlements that offer spectacular views of the town below, a whimsical peacock weather van, and an arched window that overlooks the verdant garden visited by peacocks. The fort of Mandawa was founded in the 18th century. Thakur Nawal Singh, son of Shardul Singh, founded the fort in vikram samvat 1812 (1755 AD). The fort dominates the town with a painted arched gateway adorned with Lord Krishna and his cows. Built as per a medieval theme, the castle of Mandawa is adorned with beautiful frescoes. The rooms of this palace are decorated with Lord Krishna paintings, exquisite carvings and amazing mirrorwork.

Day 04: Mandawa - Bikaner (approx 180 kms / 3 hours)

Leave by surface for Bikaner en route visiting Fatehpur, founded in the mid 15th century by a kayamkhani Nawab, Fateh Khan. The fact that Fatehpur was centrally located on the trade route attracted many a merchant to settle and prosper in this area. These merchants build some of the finest havelis. Visit some of the popular havelis such as the Devra, Singhania and Gunk. Fatehpur is also known for its tie and dye fabrics. Continue driving to Bikaner and check into hotel.
Bikaner was formerly the capital of the princely state of Bikaner. The city was founded by Rao Bika and Jats as the spot which Rao Bika selected for his capital, was the birthright of a Nehra Jat, who would only concede it for this purpose on the condition that his name should be linked in perpetuity with its surrender. Naira, or Nera, was the name of the proprietor, which Bika added to his own, thus composing that of the future capital, Bikaner. in 1486 and from its small origins it has developed into the fourth largest city in Rajasthan. Visit Devi Kund, Lalgarh Palace , Junagarh Fort and Gam breeding.

Day 05: Bikaner - Gajner (approx 45 minutes)

Leave by surface to Gajner.
Gajner is yet another historical city of Rajasthan, India where the main attraction is the Gajner Palace built by Maharaja Sir Ganga Singh Ji of Bikaner which was used as a hunting resort for the royal family and guests. It is built over an area of 6000 acres and the palace complex houses its own sanctuary housing endangered species. The palace has been redone meticulously to revive the Raj days and capture the grandeur of kingly Rajasthan. During the stay try a camel, horse or a jeep safari into the wildlife sanctuary.

Day 06: Gajner - Pokhran - Jaisalmer (approx 225 kms / 3 ½ hours)

Leave by surface to Jaisalmer en route visiting Pokhran.
An under-devoloped area, Pokhran was once the capital of the Thakur (chief) of Marwar. Pokhran came on international radar after Indian Government detonated nuclear devices here on 18th May 1974, ironically code-named 'The Buddha Smiles'. Once again international attention was focussed on it on the 11th and 13th May, 1998, when five more nuclear tests took place underneath its sandy surface, code-named this time as 'The Buddha Laughs'.

Continue driving to Jaisalmer. Arrive and check into hotel.
Throbbing in the heart of the Thar, the burnished sandstone, is an intricately molded wonderland in place of a barren land, today stands a city of gilded magic. The origins of Jaisalmer go back to the 12th century, when Rawal Jaisal abandoned his old fort at Ludarwa and laid the foundation of a new city. Visit the magnificient fort the Patwon Ki Haveli ( Mansion) and Salim singh Ki Haveli, whit their carved balconies and brackets which are supreme examples of the art. Evening camel ride to visit Sam Dunes.

Day 07: Jaisalmer

Visit Sam, which is an exciting place to see and appreciate the sand dunes.
Evening free to visit the Gadisar lake in Jaisalmer.

Day 08: Jaisalmer - Manvar - Jodhpur (approx 350 kms / 6 hours).
Breakfast at hotel.
Leave by surface for Jodhpur en route visiting Manvar. Arrive Jodhpur - stronghold of the fierce Rathore clan which was founded in 1459 by Prince Jodha.

Day 09: Jodhpur
Breakfast at hotel.
Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, situated on a low sandstone hill. Within the fort visit Moti Mahal and Phool Mahal. Also visit Jaswant Thada, an imposing marble cenotaph, built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant singh II around 1899 and Umaid Public gardens.
Evening: Enjoy dinner and cultural show.
Overnight in Jodhpur

Day 10: Jodhpur - Narlai Fort - Ranakpur (approx 160 kms / 3 ½ hours).
Breakfast at hotel.
Leave by surface for Ranakpur en route visiting Narlai Fort.
Rawla Narlai, is an hour's drive from Ranakpur, is a Hindu and Jain religious centre. It has a 17th-century fort with interesting architecture, right in the heart of the village, which is ideal for a stopover.
Continue driving to Ranakpur. Arrive and check into hotel.

Day 11: Ranakpur - Dudhtalai - Khimsar ( approx 225 kms / 4 hours)
Breakfast at hotel.
Visit the famous Jain Temples of Ranakpur. The temple is one of the five major sites for Jain pilgrimage in India. The Sun temples were built in 15th century during the reign of Rana Kumbha. This built of white limestone temple is elaborately adorned with intricate sculptures. The images of all 24 'Tirthankras' (prophets) are carved on the porticoes in a corridor around the shrine. Continue driving to Khimsar. Khimsar is a small village in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan. Established by a scion of the house of Jodhpur, Khimsar was once a small kingdom. And though Jodhpur royalty claim it was never independent, the Thakurs of Khimsar claim that not only was it an individual entity, but that one of the visitors to their ancestral fort was Emperor Aurangzeb himself.

Day 15: Jaipur - Agra

Two great Mughal monarchs, Akbar and Shah Jahan, transformed the little village of Agra into a befitting second capital of the Mughal Empire - giving it the name Dar-ul-Khilafat {seat of the Emperor}. Today a visitor to Agra is caught up in a world of contrasting edifices, of red sandstone and white marble, narrow galleys and quaint buggies, and that irresistible charm that this favorite city of the Mughals still retains. It is not surprising, that modern Agra still reflects its Mughal heritage most conspicuously. A walk down the narrow bustling streets of the city will introduce the visitor to the wafting aroma of Mughlai cuisine. Arrive and check into hotel.
